Finally Warm

In New Love, Uncategorized on February 20, 2012 at 4:30 pm

I’m warm because of you.

This heater you brought beside me is keeping me cozy, and so is the thought of you.

You leave your clothes on the floor, you know I hate that.

I doubt I will ever mind picking them up, these differences keep us interesting.

The sheets are tangled and I have to rearrange them again.

Your comments about my oddities make me laugh, but you let me straighten them anyways.

You are my favorite person to be around.

You’ve echoed this sentiment and it warms my heart.

There are flaws that I have, flaws that you encourage me to improve.

I’m stubborn but receptive, it’s nice with you here.

You have your flaws as well.

I see you recognize and try to be better for me.

It’s give and take and it’s worth it for what we have.

Reality is so easy for you,

I’m always impressed with the way you know just what to say.

To restore my faith in the order of things.

You permeate my soul and sometimes I wonder if you know how much you mean to me.

This is my message to you, my sun and stars.

Like the sun you shine bright, warming me inside & out.

Like the stars, I want to gaze at you and thank the powers that be who brought you to me.

Thank you.

Pt 1

It’s imperative that I stare at him

Can’t take my eyes off of him

If you saw, I know you’d understand.

Forgotten where I left off, all I know is I got distracted

Got to be proactive

Knee-jerk reactin’

If I’m gonna make a difference at all

Now is my chance, got to resign to the free fall.

Counting the days since I met him

Don’t know why it feels like weeks when it’s only been days

Been walking on air since that Wednesday, we first met each other’s gaze

Wandering together in this dual-purpose maze.
